PHRYGIA. Temenothyrae. Valerian and Gallienus, 253-260. 10 Assaria (Bronze, 40 mm, 32.20 g, 6 h), Kleoboulos. AV K-A ΠΟ.ΛΙ.ΟVΑΛΕΡΙΑΝΟC / ΑV ΚΑ.ΠΟ.ΛΙΚΙ / ΓΑΛΛΙΗΝΟC On the left, radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Valerian to right, facing on the right, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gallienus to left. Rev. ΚΛΕΟΒΟVΛΟ-C.ΑΡΚΩΝ / Α //ΤΗΜΕΝΟΘV/ΡΕVCΙΝ Mên, wearing Phrygian cap, chlamys, short chiton and with a crescent on his shoulders, holding a pine cone in his right hand and a long spear with his left, standing left in a chariot, drawn by two galloping bulls to left. BMC 35. Very rare. A splendid, well- and sharply-struck coin with a fine dark olive-green patina and earthen highlights. Extremely fine.
